I have a younger brother and it’s always fun to spend time with him.
I must admit that while we were growing up, he was always my guinea pig. I would make him sit in front of me and teach him what I learnt at school. I would make him play whatever I wanted to play. I would force him to draw because I liked to draw. He was my favourite toy until he realised the torture and chose to retaliate! 😝
Times change, but the bond still remains. The difference this time is that now he’s forced to taste the experiments from my kitchen. He’s a big foodie and it’s always fun to cook with him being around!
Do you believe in Angels?? I do.
Whenever I see a feather fallen on the ground, I secretly wish for things I want. And guess what? They do come true!
I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or if it’s for real! But, whatever it is, it makes me happy! 😊
The feet of angels bright;
Unseen they pour blessing,
And joy without ceasing,
On each bud and blossom,
And sleeping bosom.
Do you wake up on a Monday morning feeling sad and lazy? Do you begin the week with lots of anxiety? Do you go to bed on Sunday night secretly wishing that tomorrow should never come? If you are nodding to all my questions then you must read further! 🙂
First let me tell you, most of us go through this feeling. I did too. And it’s super easy to turn a dull and a lazy Monday to a happy and productive one.
But first, let’s see why it’s important to begin the week (rather every single day) on a happy note.
1. People who begin their day (or week) with a smile tend to stay happy throughout.
2. A good start to the day increases productivity at work.
3. It leads to good relationships and networking at work as well as after work.
4. Leads to a healthy and an anxiety free lifestyle.
Do you agree with these points? Well, however preachy it may sound, it’s a reality. And the earlier we accept it, the better it is. Isn’t it?
So, are you ready to beat the Monday blues? Here are few ways how you can do it –
1. Have a rocking weekend before the new week begins.
Spend the weekend doing what you love; whether you like to party, or just relax at home, or play with kids, or spend time watching TV or by going to a spa, or just laze around doing nothing. Don’t work on weekends unless it’s absolutely necessary and if it can’t wait till Monday. Just get refreshed and get your energy back. Even your brain needs to laze around at times. 😉
2. Plan ahead in advance for the week.
Create a to-do list and plan your priorities the prior week. By doing this you will exactly know what you have to start with.
3. Dress up well
Dressing up well cheers you up. When you look good, you feel good! So, make sure you dress up well for work and don’t forget to look into the mirror and compliment yourself before stepping out.
4. Put on a smile
Put on a smile as soon as you wake up. Greet people (maybe even strangers, unless it’s creepy)! Sharing smiles with those around you will create a relaxed atmosphere.
5. Don’t be late.
Waking up early and leaving for work early (by early I mean your usual work time instead of getting late) will get you in the momentum. It would be great if you could add a small workout to your morning routine.
6. A hearty breakfast
Keeping in mind the numerous benefits a breakfast has, it’s extremely important that you don’t leave your house without it.
7. Plan something fun for Monday evening
Starting the week on a happier note could be made easier if you have something to look forward to on a Monday evening with family or friends. Absolutely anything you like! Who said fun is to be reserved for Fridays and weekends only!
8. Plan for the weekend
Always remember, if one weekend is gone, you have another one coming up in just four days! Plan ahead so that you are excited about it all week.
These are just a few things I have implemented for beating my Monday blues. They surely do the trick and help making life a lot easier than it looks. All you need is a little motivation and that extra kick to move forward.
I hope this post has succeeded in doing that.
Practise these few tricks and let me know if it has helped you. Or, if you have any other cool way to beat the Monday blues, share with me. I would love to learn and read about your experiences.
Happy Monday people!! Have an awesome week ahead!
Woohoo!! Half way through my task!
I must say that it has been an enriching experience. I already see a lot of change in my attitude and in my outlook towards life. But, I will share my experience only after I complete 100 days.
